Mutundwe, Kampala, Uganda

Our story, purpose and values

Uplands High School Mutundwe grew from a commitment to bring quality, affordable and values-based secondary education closer to the community.

The late Mr Noah Semugoma, founder of Uplands High School Mutundwe
Our beginning

A legacy of service through education

The school was established in 2001 by the late Mr Noah Semugoma after his retirement from public service. He was a distinguished educationist and former Head Teacher of Lubiri Secondary School. He founded the school with his wife, Mrs Jane Semugoma, an experienced educator and former Head Teacher of Kitante Primary School.

The founders saw families facing barriers to secondary education, including distance, poverty and social exclusion. They established a community-focused school where students would gain knowledge, values and practical skills at an affordable cost.

The current directors and management remain committed to this founding mission. The school continues to promote academic excellence, discipline, responsible citizenship and opportunities for students to develop their full potential.
